Fantastic tour. Alex (guide) certainly knew his stuff. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone with a fascination about Victorian London and Jack the Ripper. A great way to see more of London that would otherwise be bypassed.

Such a great way to learn about London's history! Our guide, Alex, was fantastic - he was very knowledgeable, had a great ability to draw the story together and share the various conspiracy theories while sticking to the facts as we know them. Our group had a really good time and it was excellent value for money.

My friend and I had a great time on the Jack the Ripper tour. Our guide Alex was very knowledgable, friendly and informative. It was a large group but well-managed. Each murder was talked about both chronologically and by location, and we learnt a great deal about the local area, the origins of some common words and phrases and about the area in 1888. I would recommend this tour. Thanks Alex!

last night ( 2nd,march) me and a few friends along with Alex who was our very well spoken, very knowledgeable and funny tour guide took us around the white-chapel area showing us where these gruesome acts were committed along with general history of the police forces at the time and other things to do with the area, we did have a few problems with other tour guides just being childish and standing next to us all at one point , where by Alex had to stop and walk us around the corner but he just laughed it off and carried on like a professional , which is something i cannot say for the other tour guides. But all in all i would happily suggest this tour for friends, family's and couples well just about everyone really , i wouldn't so much suggest this for kids only due to the nature of it though :)

My friend and I went on the Jack the ripper walking tour and loved it! Our tour guide George was great and there wasn't a question we asked that he couldn't answer. He was very knowledgeable and runs a fun tour. You visit all the crime scenes and go into the history of Jack the ripper as well as the history of London at that time which was very interesting. I've read up loads on Jack the ripper and this tour had lots of information I hadn't heard before.
It was pouring with rain and we thought about cancelling but so glad now that we didn't.Would like to do the tour again now [with George because he was a really good guide!] in the winter....be more atmospheric in the dark!

Really enjoyed this tour - one of those things I'd heard of but never got around to actually doing. Alex the guide was excellent - very friendly, helpful and up for a chat between stop off points. He was well researched, appeared to have a passion for his subject, and seemed to really enjoy himself, which rubbed off on the rest of us, despite the terrible weather. He also has a great voice for a tour around busy parts of London - clear and loud - so we were all able to hear. I can't recommend this enough. Many thanks for an unexpectedly enjoyable evening. Alex was a brilliant tour guide - very natural, interesting, funny and knowledgable. He set the scene of late 19th century Whitechapel, and gave a great history of the murders. I learned a lot without it feeling like a lecture, and was thoroughly entertained for the whole tour.

I was also really happy it wasn't one of those tours with awkward acting and costumes and things.

We did think we'd be stopping off for a drink at a pub which would have been nice, but we did that after the tour anyway so we were happy.

by Sascha M (A TripAdvisor Member) on 29 Dec 2011

Me and my friends attended to the Jack the Ripper tour in London on 26th of novembre 2011 and I liked it a lot. We met George (guide) at St. Botolph's church in east London and it was already dark outside. Best atmosphere for such a cruel story. He was very nice and friendly and had a huge knowledge about London and Jack the Ripper.
If you are not english, it's not a problem to understand him. He speaks very understandably and with a perfect voice.

We saw all crime scenes where the murders happend and got a lot of information about it.
The walking tour was not too long, quite perfect. We stopped often and visited the next ancient and dark place of east London. I was really impressed how much George knew about London and Jack the Ripper, how many details he revealed. He could also answer all of our questions and recommended nice places of London. We got not only informations about Jack the Ripper, but interesting others as well.
During the tour, you will see dark, cruel and scary places but also nice places for dinner or walk, for example. The tour took about 2 hours and was not too long. We had enough time talk and this is what I like. Speaking english.
The tour brings you out of the tourist area and let you scare sometimes.
Last word: absolutely brilliant (like this)

I recently went on the Jack the Ripper tour and found it most enlightening. Being walked about Whit Chapel by two charming and highly informed young guys was great and they made me feel very looked after.
They had some very interesting facts and theories that I had never heard about or even thought of, and what a treat for one of the young men to be the son
of M.J.Trow one of the leading experts on Jack the Ripper. All in all I found this one of my highlights of coming to London and would recommend it to any one that wants to see London from an entirly different point of view and who has ever been intrigued by Jack the Ripper and wants to learn little know facts.

    Many Thanks to all involved

Me and my brother fancied a Ripper tour for Halloween. There are a few out there but I'd heard this one recommended during the day. Tali (our guide) was brilliant. He was young but well informed and alternated the mood between educational and frightening with ease. He had some companions with him who stood in the shadows and made me nearly jump out of my skin on the dark streets of East London. Got to say the walk had me transfixed throughout and by the end I felt I'd had a really unique Ripper tour. Be warned though, it is not for the feint hearted, as that Ripper fella wasn't a good egg at all. We told Tali at the end we enjoyed it so much that I'd write this, and recommend this to anyone who wants an entertaining night out in the gothic mists of Whitechaple's alleyways. 10/10
