The Sex & The City Tour

Take a walk through the real life locations made famous by Carrie and the girls in the hit show Sex and the City! See where they live, work, party, and fall in (and out) of love.

Much of SATC was/is shot on location in New York’s über-cool Greenwhich Village and Meatpacking District. It makes perfect sense then to visit these streets on foot just like Carrie and the girls, but with an expert local guide keeping you in the picture!

  1. Sex & the City tour: unexpectedly engaging even for a non-fan Review by HK

I booked the Sex and the City walking tour for my sister who's visiting from out of town and loves the show. (She's a Charlotte, apparently.) I've never particularly been interested in it, but figured I could deal with hearing about it for an hour and a half.

Our tour guide (Melissa, I think) was fantastic. She was so into the show and knew so many details that I found myself actually caring. Then - and I really didn't expect this - in between the show's landmarks, she pointed out historical landmarks and facts that I never knew about. Despite having lived in New York for 10+ years, I had never been to the High Line and knew nothing about its past. The way she went back and forth between talking about the show and New York's history was brilliant and made the time fly by.

My only criticism is that our tour started at 6pm - half an hour later it was too dark to take decent pictures. If you go, book an earlier tour!

When we got home, we watched a few episodes. (My sis brought her DVDs.) I totally recognized the cupcake store we stopped at on the tour while watching! While I still hate Sarah Jessica Parker, the rest of the girls are okay. lol. So thank you, Melissa (or was it Michelle?) for giving me something to talk to my sister about. (Posted on 14/01/2011)

  2. Sex and culture! Review by oversexedinthecity

I loved this tour! The guide was so knowledgeable about the show and the area. And what a great area of town! I have been to NYC several times and have NEVER seen The Meatpacking District or Greenwich Village. So cute! I spent the next day after the tour going back to all the place that the guide suggested. (Great tip about Murray's Cheese, thanks again) Loved it and would certainly do it again! (Posted on 07/12/2010)

This is an awesome tour! Not only did we see some really cool film & TV locations from SATC, but Bert knew a heck of alot about Greenwich Village and the Meatpacking District generally! Great one to start a girls night out!
